Today we are going to speak about Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3. It is a restorative hair mask for home use. It is designed to help to maintain the beauty and health of your hair in between salon treatments. The product is universal and suitable for all hair types: natural, highlighted, bleached, curls, and straight. In my case, Olaplex helped in the process of becoming blond. I would like to start my review of Olaplex Hair Perfector No.3 with its composition. By the way, I would not say that it is very concentrated (yes, it is full of good oils and vitamins), but in fact, not oils and vitamins make Olaplex work. The secret is in its patented component Bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, which restores disulfide bonds, which are breaking down during the bleaching process. Also, it has another special component – cationic polymers. It is not only a moisture-retaining component, it creates a protective film, removes static, and protects the hair in this way. In theory, when these disulfide bonds are restored, the hair should become stronger.
How to use Olaplex Hair Perfector
Apply it on not-washed wet hair. Sometimes I don’t wet my hair with the shower, but simply wet my hair with my hands, so the effect is better, but in such a way you use more of the product. After application leaves it for about 10-20 minutes (can be longer). We wash the mask off and follow with the shampoo and conditioner.
One bottle of the mask is enough for 8 applications. So for about two months of use (you need to make the mask once a week). I would also highlight two important points regarding the use of the Olaplex Hair Perfector mask:
- Apply the product to damp, not wet hair. The hair needs to be wetted and dried a little with a towel.
- Olaplex Hair Perfector should be applied to dirty hair before shampooing. If you use heavy styling products, then this rule will not apply and you will have to wash your hair first. Because many styling products create a film on the hair, which will significantly reduce the effectiveness of this elixir.
I would not say that this product gives some kind of mega-softness. That is why it seems to me that this treatment is more for hair restoration after hurming dyeing, but it is not a nourishing mask.
However, Olaplex Hair Perfector No.3 gives us the ability to change hair color with minimal loss. It prevents the hair from breakage and makes hair visually more “alive”. Next time, when I bleach my hair, I will definitely stock up on a bottle of Olaplex 3 beforehand. Because the product helped me a lot “not to stay bald.”
That’s my whole review of Olaplex Hair Perfector No.3. In my opinion, this is a good support for a quick transition to a new color. In other cases, there is simply no need for such a product.
