I had just begun a great relationship with my current partner, enjoyed school and had finally established a stable friendship group. But i had a lovely birthday when i turned 22 and I was feeling really good that day and decided that this was going to be a great, fun year. My dad passed away that year and my first job was very stressful. But somehow every parts of me believed this was still a great year and it helped me to really face my loss and grieve without falling apart. For me, happiness was so rare that once i felt it, i just refused to let it go. I’ve been having depression since i was 18 and didn’t know what was being happy anymore.
