This Week’s Beauty Tip … is from you!

in Beauty Tip of the Week

beauty-tip-picI can’t believe I started the weekly post Beauty Tip of The Week 6 months ago … time is flying by and I can’t keep up! It really felt like it was just last week where I had the idea and was doing the little logo for it on Photoshop (it’s supposed to look like a pink Post-It note but I think it looks anything but, sigh).

To celebrate it’s 6 month ‘anniversary’, I figured that maybe this week I hand it over to you and ask for your beauty tips….

So spill the beans – what are some of your beauty tips you’d like to share with us? I can’t wait to hear them all! :)

Dust a little face powder on your lashes before putting mascara on, it adds volume :-D

My two top beauty tips: water & sleep!! They go such a long way. I’ve even seen change in my hair when I increase my water intake!

I think that this is a really good idea, My beauty tip for soft skin would have to be honey and milk. Mixing a spoon of milk with a spoon of honey and mixing it well, then with a cotton pad smearing onto face and neck generously, leaving for 10 minutes and then washing off with warm water makes my skin so soft. :)

Hey Danielle, thanks for this tip! I haven’t heard it before and I love natural, DIY tips! :D Does this cause breakouts, though? Have you tried it yourself?

Reply

i dont think it will cause breakouts since honey is a natural antiseptic it kills all the bacteria and prevents from further growth aswell!!…and this does really work. you can clearly see the difference in your skin. :)

Before you i go on a date i usually mix a little bit of brown sugar and extra virgin olive oil, then i rub it between my hands for a minute or two and rinse it off. You will get soft and touchable skin, you never know when you date might make a move. So be prepare.

Hey Victoria, welcome! :) Thanks for your comment. I LOVE this tip, olive oil is wonderful at moisturizing and brown sugar is great for exfoliating. Thanks for this natural, DIY tip!

My tip is also about olive oil! Put some olive oil on your conditioner! You’ll have very smooth hair! Or, you can also make a deep treatment using equal parts of your favorite hair treatment mask and olive oil. Put a hot towel, or anything else warm on your head, to help the oil to get in your hair. It’s very moisturizing!
There’a also the possibility to use the oil as a serum… just be sure to use very little, so the hair doesn’t get greasy and doesn’t smell like food ! lol

Hey Lorlori, thanks so much for your tip! :) I love your deep conditioning method! Olive oil is fantastic for the hair, I used to do it quite often but switched to coconut oil. Oils are the best for hair cause they really penetrate and soften the hair. Have you tried any other oils? I heard jojoba is good too. The only con I find about them is that they’re so smelly :-P

yes, they are smelly, but the moisture my hair gets… totally worth it! … i heard the almond oil is also good, but never tried the coconut one.

My beauty tip would be making facial masks with egg whites and honey. You just mix the two together and apply a thin layer on your face for 10-15 minutes. After you rinse off with lukewarm water, you will see the noticeable difference. Bye bye to large pores!

Btw, love your blog Renee! =)

Aw thanks so much, Elle! :) I’m glad to have you here!

Egg whites are great for our pores. Did you see my post on an egg white blackhead mask? It works too! Seems like a lot of you like to use honey in your skincare, I really must try it out as well. Thanks for your tip! :D

its pretty basic. the best makeup remover is baby oil! i use baby oil gel but you can use the normal baby oil aswell to take off my makeup. i use waterproof mascara and it used to be a pain to take it off and not anymore! just glide it on to ur lashes wait a couple ov mins and remove with tissue it comes off so easily!

Thanks Maria, I have heard baby oil is great as a remover as well – I’m glad it works so well for your waterproof makeup, aren’t they the worse to remove?! Especially for mascara ’cause you can lose a lot of eyelashes as well. Thanks for your tip! Baby oil is also an excellent body moisturizer, I used to use them on my legs for a nice sheen on nights out, it works really well! Def a star product :D

What a co-in-ki-dink! (don’t ask haha)

I just published my beauty tip on tightlining. Line your eyes at the baseof your lashes to fake a fuller set of eyelashes. Simple, no?!

Haha yes I saw your post too! I love the way tightlining looks but I’m a little scared… is it hygienic? I always wear contacts so I’m not sure if it’s good for contact-wearers?

Yet another tip with olive oil! Every so often (weeks.) i take a cotton pad and pour a few drops of extra virgin olive oil and rub it into my nails, it really helps them grow stronger! I know a lot of manicurists use almond oil but i think olive oil works better

I use olive oil to take off my makeup. I rub it inbetween my hands and then allover my face and tissue it off. I then follow with my normal face routine. Also, if you want to really clean your hair use a clear shampoo. Don’t wet your hair, use it on dry hair and massage your scalp only then use water to rinse it off. It gets rid of all the gunk and plus clear shampoo has less ingredients than the milky colored ones.

This isn’t really a beauty tip, but I think everyone should use the Palmers Coco Butter face range. I don’t really have that bad skin, but I usually have at least one pimple on my face.
I cleansed my face and moisturised, when I got up, the three pimples on my face were GONE!
After the FIRST time using it!
Also, it makes your skin feel soooooooo soft. It’s unbelievable
