If applying lemon juice on your hair isn’t your thing, you can always use that lemon for a healthier, better reason, like your well-being!

This week’s beauty tip comes straight from my best friend in London. She recommends mixing some lemon juice in warm water and drinking it every morning. Great timing too – I literally just saw a health program that recommended this tip!

Lemon is a rich source of vitamin C, as you all may know already. It also contains vitamin B, and minerals like calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, as well as proteins and carbohydrates. Daily consumption of lemon water provides a number of health benefits as it aids in digestive problems, aids in dental care, cures throat infections, controls high blood pressure, acts as a blood purifier, treats respiratory diseases, reduces fevers and is beneficial for your skin. Phew!

So what do you do? Take a glass of warm water, and squeeze half a lemon in it. Best taken in the morning. Let the warmth of the water and the zesty taste of the lemon start off your day!

Does anyone drink lemon water? I’m starting tomorrow morning! :)

Hi Renne! I like eating very much lemon, even if it’s in my tea or only with simple water. I also use the lemon on my hair ( home made hair mask) and sometimes I put my nails into a fresh lemon just to make them look whiter :). It has so many benefits :)

Hey Tavia! Thanks for your added tips. I agree, lemon has many benefits, as well as being a natural bleach so that’s why it works well for your nails! :D

I’m starting to, too. But not to eat, way too sour. I love the scent – wakes me up and energizes me!

I do this whenever lemons are in season. It really does help to wake you up and kick start your digestion. My godmother started me on it after she did it for a few months. Her complexion was glowing so I had to do it as well. Good luck with it.

Hey Eli. Thanks for your comment. :D So far so good, I hope it helps with my skin just like your grandmother. And yup, it def helps kick start your digestion, that was one of the first things I heard about it, but then when I researched I found so many more benefits that I wrote above.

Very cool! I added lemon juice to my morning smoothie and feel even better about it now. I’ve read that adding cayenne pepper to warm water with lemon juice is supposed to be really good too.

I have a glass of warm water with a half squeezed fresh lemon every morning, first thing. It energizes me so much that I am able to grab my morning oatmeal or egg white omlete and hit the gym. It keeps me energized throughout my entire workout!
