Taylor Swift Makeup Look at American Music Awards 2008

If anyone had told me a year ago that I would listen to country music and actually like it, I would’ve slapped them. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with country music. I just concluded ages ago that it wasn’t me.

So when a friend sent me a song by Taylor Swift, I had to admit I did like it, and after hearing a few of her others songs, I decided that country music may not be so bad after all. Also, I had seen her recently all over the media bad mouthing her ex which I fully support, I so guess I love her now.

Anyways, they say the best revenge is looking good, and she did at the recent American Music Awards! The makeup at the event seemed to be all about subtle, dreaming looking smokey eyes that were sported on Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys and Ashley Tisdale. Girlactik Beauty’s founder, Galit Strugano shares how to achieve the subtle, smoky eye and glowing tints of the stars.

• Apply your foundation. But keep skin dewy so don’t go too crazy with the powder. Too much powder gives a very aging, matte look.
• Start by applying a pewter shadow, or any sparkling gray shadow you may have. Also, add a touch of silver to the inner corners of your eyes for that extra sparkle.
• Along the crease of your eyelid, apply a softer smoky color like Girlactik’s Star Shadow in Sultry, and line eyes with a black eyeliner.
• To get a fresh, rosy-cheeked look on face, try a soft pink colored blush with golden undertones. (Read my post on How to Apply Blush for help!)
