Rejoice! Finally a celebrity who isn’t obsessed with herself and dares to show us all her ‘flaws’. The very beautiful Sarah Murdoch (Aussie supermodel, host of Australia’s Next Top Model) is on this month’s Australian Woman’s Weekly showing off her beautiful face – is that lines and age spots, you see? She doesn’t care.
Bravo Miss Murdoch! But tell me – do you think the public is ready for this? I’m very interested to hear if this cover is celebrated or gasped at by the industry, I’m sure it will gain some media attention. What do you think of unretouched cover photos – would you buy a magazine if the cover model looks less than perfect?

Hey Renee.
I would still buy the magazine if the celebrity is as beautiful as Sarah Murdoch is. She doesnt need any make up to look beautful! Now I’ve seen some celebrities without a stitch of make up on, and if they’re on the cover of some magazine then I’d say I’d rather spend the money on starbucks instead!!! Haha
When I saw the photo I was just going to say “Way to go” at least somebody dares to appear on the cover of a magazine without photoshop retouching. Is normal that people get older and still look good

That´s awesome, I think she looks beautiful!!
Hey girls, I’m glad you all found this cover beautiful and accepted it. I def think this “difference” in magazine covers should be celebrated!
I LOVE IT!
I read a quote somewhere that really resonated with me: If someone from an alien race got ahold of one of our magazines as a representation of what humans are like, they’d think we have no women over 40. (I’m loosely paraphrasing here
) Once I read that, I started really paying attention, and it’s true! How often do we see anyone featured with laugh lines, sagging skin, age spots, etc? Yet we ALL get them eventually, so why do we try so hard to pretend otherwise?
I think aging gracefully is one of the most honest, beautiful things a woman can do. Not only would I buy a magazine that revealed that, I’d buy it BECAUSE it did.
Amanda´s last blog … Recession? What recession?
definitely! it wouldn’t be nice if like, you get to see celebrities personally when they go out and they look different from how they’re displayed in magazines…moreover, it gives readers a negative impression on beauty!

Totally agree with you both – Amanda, aging gracefully is the way to go. I heard that quote, too! When you age gracefully, you actually look way younger than someone who has botox, a facelift and whatnot. Everyone ages, why go against it? You’re only fooling yourself! My friend and I always joke that at 40 we will both have twin botox sessions but it’s def a joke – I am petrified of needles and do not take well to pain
Haha.
Yup, Sunmom, overphotoshopped photos are just doing more harm than good. And then when you see them in candid photos it’s like, WHAT!?
OMG! She looks amazing! I totally agree with ageing gracefully, i mean look at Joan Collins!! Eurrgghhh!! Dolly Parton ewwww, yeh i totally think everyone looks better WITHOUT botox!! x
Aging gracefully is a big YES-YES for all women. I understand Boto is used for many medical reasons but having a permanent, shocked look on your face doesn’t make you look any younger!
