Redken Extreme Rescue Force Review

in Hair,Reviews

After falling in love with Redken’s Extreme Anti-Snap, I somehow completely trust this brand and plan to try out the whole Extreme line one day.

The last deep conditioner I tried out was Pantene’s 3 Minute Miracle. While I really like it, I still want to explore what else is there and if I can find something better (also, I need to blog about other brands too!)

When a discount beauty store opened next to me and Redken products were almost half off from the salon prices, I took it as a sign to start shopping! I purchased Redken’s Extreme Rescue Force, and All Soft Conditioner.

Redken’s Extreme Rescue Force is described as a deep contioning hair mask, used once a week or so, depending on the damage of your hair!

Redken’s exclusive Interbond Conditioning System delivers a unique 3D Repair Complex of proteins, ceramide and lipids to help provide internal strength, cuticle reinforcement and protective resurfacing.

Contains:

  1. Proteins – internal strength
  2. Ceramide – cuticle reinforcement
  3. Natural Lipids – protective resurfacing

Why it works:

  • A silky, rich cream
  • Provides deep conditioning, detangling and repair
  • Strengthens and restores distressed hair
  • Leaves hair in enhanced condition with increased manageability and shine.

Instructions said to leave it on on towel dried hair after shampooing for 5-15 minutes, but you know me! :) I left it on for a good half hour. I was amazed at the results, my hair seems extremely soft and somehow stronger. The product smells wonderful and that tub looks hilarious on top of my toilet! Haha!

I have been using rescue Force every time I shampoo for the past 2 weeks followed by Anti-Snap once my hair has dried, and I really see a difference in the strength of my hair. There is a big difference in breakage – after my cut, I can hardly find them anymore! I really hope it continues so no more breakage will form.

I am a bit torn – I really like the product, and I think pairing it with Anti-Snap makes an amazing combination. However, it kinda feels like any other deep conditioner; and I know some may be a bit put-off by the price! So if the cost is an issue I would recommend Pantene’s 3 Minute Miracle (except leave it on for much longer!), I believe both products kinda do the same.

Has anyone tried this product? What do you think of Redken products in general? I’m starting to become a fan!

AH! I wrote a long reply but it just got deleted. I hate that!

I wrote that I prefer Redken as it didn’t seem to weight down my hair after it dried. Pantene’s seemed to have a bit of residue afterwards, but it did disappear eventually. However, if you’re just looking for ridiculously soft hair and treating damage isn’t the problem, I recommend Redken’s All Soft conditioner – AMAZING! I will write about that one soon!

Hi,
I have severe split ends in my hair and they keep coming back despite regular trimming. Plus, my hair seems to have lost its shine and has also thinned considerably over the last couple of years. I used to have long, black, thick and lustrous hair but now it has become a sad story.

Please recommend something so that I can restore my hair. The Redken product that you have mentioned below, is something that I have not heard of previously. Where can I buy it from?

You can find Redken at most salons … Actually I would recommend their All Soft range, that’s even more amazing!

Hey Anamika,

Do you blowdry your hair regularly? I tried this and lost all shine and “life” from my hair. Try to buy a good heat protective spray to apply beforehand, works really well and has made a big different for me.

Shine serums for the hair also help to moisturize and also to keep it looking shiny from it’s film (:

Would it be harmful for the product to come into contact with the scalp?

Shouldn’t do anything to your scalp if it’s by accident, goes on me all the time and nothing! Though it’s supposed to be just on your hair, so try to avoid the scalp area! :D

I agree with Leititia, I bought this and it made my hair worse! Extreme Rescue Force definitely didn’t work for me. My hair felt like straw aswell.
