Orchids: A Conservation Story Clarins Event

Here’s a little fun fact about my place of birth and residence, Singapore: Orchid’s are our national plant. Another fact: many species have become extinct, so it’s time to conserve our beautiful flowers! Beauty brand Clarins and TANGS have joined the National Parks to bring you “Orchids: A Conservation Story”, to promote the conservation of our rare species in Singapore.

From last weekend ’til June 3rd, Orchard Road (ha!) has been transformed into an orchid paradise, which I think is awesome – I love Orchids and have some at in my own home, as well. :)

To play their part, TANGS has teamed up with Clarins and National Parks to help conserve the rare native orchid species in Singapore by planting a Tiger Orchid (pictured above, isn’t it beautiful?) in front of TANGS, as well as a donation of $10,000 from TANGS and Clarins to the Orchid Conservation Fund. Donations are also welcome from the public, just simply go to a TANGS counter.

TANGS kindly invited me to their media launch and a Clarins Shopper’s Event last weekend, at the Clarins counter at TANGS. Unfortunately I was only available on Saturday at the Shopper’s Event, where I got to witness the madness (look at all the people on a Saturday morning!), learn more about this conservation project, and also learn more about Clarins as a brand.

Clarins is no stranger to plants, and specifically, orchids. Clarins prides itself in using all natural plant extracts in their products, and the products I got to witness at the shopper’s event were their Plant Gold range – they even have a product called Orchidee Bleu! There were two other beauty bloggers there as well and we got to hang out in the Clarins studio and talk with a brand representative, where she informed us all about the conservation project, as well as information about Clarins as a brand.

I also got a goodie bag from TANGS and Clarins (thank you!) and decided that I will be trying out one of Clarins’ Plant Gold oil products to review; since I think many of your might like to hear about it, so look out for that! Many thanks to Shu Lee, TANGS and Clarins for inviting me to this event! :)

I love orchids, they’re my favourite flower. The last time I was back in Singapore I dragged my boyfriend to the Botanical Gardens and took a ridiculous kajillion photos of orchids! Wish I was there to see this.

The plant oils sounds really interesting. Looking forward to seeing a review!

This is such a cool project! Orchids are my favorite flower, but they don’t grow well in California. They’re super expensive here, so you’re lucky to be in a place where they grow wild! Those Plant Gold products looks interesting, can’t wait to see what you think of them.

I love orchids. My mum used to have a lot of orchids in our garden. A really meaningful project for Clarins to take up!
