Makeup used in Twilight Saga, New Moon

December 8, 2009   in Celebrity Looks, Make Up

Highly ancipated movie of the year, New Moon is finally out … and what a great way to end the year off. (Although I wish there was more Robert, hehe). I realized last month that my mom and I haven’t seen a movie together in 12 years (!!!) so when New Moon came along I forced her to come see it with me. :) We both enjoyed it, and I thought Bella (Kristen Stewart) looked even more beautiful in this movie than in Twilight.

Though the movie was just released, Norma Hill-Patton, the Makeup Designer for New Moon, shared what products she used on some of the characters of New Moon. I’ll keep updating this post as I get more info, so check back often – I’m really eager to hear about Bella’s makeup, I found her eye makeup very ‘natural’ and so sweet and pretty.

Skin:

Chantecaille products were used on the lovely Miss Stewart. Products included Future Skin, Water Flower Fluid, Biodynamic Lifting Oil Free Fluid, Stress Repair Concentrate eye cream and Flower Harmonizing Cream.

Hair

Kerastase products were used on Kristen’s hair, namely Bain Mirior Shampoo and Conditioner and Nutri-Sculpt mousse for volume.

Makeup:

  • Chantecaille Future Skin Oil-Free Foundation
  • DuWop Reverse Eyeliner
  • DuWop Reverse Lip Liner

While the exact products used for her eye makeup has not been revealed, the makeup artist did share how you can get the look at home. First, sweep peachy-ivory eyeshadow all over your eyelids. Take a fine brush and apply a brown eyeshadow on top and bottom lash line, as if you are applying eyeliner. Finish off by applying a darker brown eyeshadow at the creases of your eyelid for more definition. Voila! Simple, brown eyes.

Also, if you loved Bella’s makeup in Twilight too, you can check out exactly what was used for Bella in the first movie, here: Makeup Used in Twilight.

Alright girls, time for some mad discussion: Have you seen New Moon yet? What did you think? Were you gasping for air when my boyfriend, er, I mean, Edward appeared on screen? What did you think of the makeup this time around? Did you prefer the makeup in Twilight (all the makeup scoop is here) or in New Moon? So many questions …! :D

Oh… That was actually me.

Haha, kidding. The kids in my cinema were fine, but then again I did choose a good time to see it (midday on a school day) and in a really remote cinema in my country so I was fine, no screaming in my theatre! :-P

new moon was a really good movie, and I agree, bella looked even more beautiful than in twilight. Her make-up was wonderful and oh my god, I loved her hair, what colour is that? it’s awsome…
and jacob…oh…. every girl at the movies started showting and making weird noises every time he appeared shirtless (most of the movie).
I missed edward though, he didn’t appeared a lot, and his shirtless scene was after we had seen jacob and his hudred muscles soooooo it wasn’t that impresive, he’s hot though.

Haha those crazy girls! My cinema was quiet which was good! :-P

I was actually emailed a question today asking the exactly hair color dye that Bella used, haha. So I think it’s a becoming a popular shade! I’m afraid I have no clue though, it looked auburn to me. :S

LOL. Twilight freaks unite! Watched it twice so far, and finding Jacob Black uber hot. (Gaaawd, those muscles!)

Anyway, moving on to comments on the makeup. I really loved Bella’s makeup here. I found that it was really natural and suited the mood of her character. Did you guys notice the uber dark circles and shadows under her eyes after being dumped. I loved that attention was paid to details like that to make the character more real.

Edward’s makeup, however, just didnt do it for me. I wished they had done a better job with his foundation. In my opinion, it felt it was kinda fake. I thought it looked better in Twilight.

And the final thing which really bugged me in New Moon. Those contact lenses! The contact lenses used made all the “vegetarian” vampires look like they had yellow circles for irises. It was just flat. I watched Twilight again after watching New Moon, and I thought the lenses used there was much better. Subtler, but much better.

Hope I didn’t offend anyone, it’s just my honest opinion. I loved New Moon all the same! =)

Syen, I could’ve written that comment myself!

I totally noticed Bella’s dark eye circles and also thought that the Vamps makeup this time round was a bit too obvious. And yeah, the contacts were too much – I mean, if anyone had yellowish eyes of course anyone would suspect there was something wrong with them… if not an eye infection, LOL! I have to agree that the contacts in Twilight looked much better. From what I hear Eclipse makeup will be much more ‘daring’, especially with Bella. I read that we should expect lots of different looks!

my boyf and i watched it yday and i loved it! :) i do think that the makeup is abit heavier this time around. Bella definitely looked as if she HAD makeup on (esp her eyes) because in twilight her makeup was like almost nil. Nontheless i still think that overall the makeup here is more attractive :) .
