Laura Mercier Secret Concealer Review

After I bought Laura Mercier’s Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer, I came home to find that I had actually finished my usual concealer. Instead of stocking up with my old one, I decided to go to LM to purchase their Secret Concealer.

Plus, on the day I bought the tinted moisturizer, the lady put this on me and once again, it looked flawless!

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer is a moisture-rich concealer designed specifically for under & around the eye area to conceal discolorations and dark circles.

I’ve been using Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealer for the past few months now, and while I like it, I don’t know what I’m doing different than the lady, because I feel it doesn’t cover as well as when she applied it on me. Sigh! It’s a great concealer – very creamy and easy to apply, but somehow it doesn’t cover serious dark circles like mine.

If I were to compare it to another concealer I like; such as Benefit’s famous Boi-ing, I prefer this formula way better – the texture is amazing and goes on much more smoothly, yet I feel Boi-ing gives better coverage. I still decided to write this post because my friend adores it, and for those who don’t need too much coverage (this is only for under eye circles, by the way) I think it would work great. One little con, however, like all Laura Mercier products, it’s on the expensive side.

I know LM has a huge following. Does anyone use this concealer? What are your thoughts on it? I contemplated this concealer and the other one they have available; so maybe the other one is better suited for darker eye circles? Let me know what you think of LM concealers!

love laura mercier, just not the prices. but this is a huge pot and you use a little so this is more worth it than the tinted moisturizer. this can be used for a over a year. the tinted moisturizer, a few months at most!

I completely agree, Lesley. The tub is a good size and you use such a tiny amount each time, this one would definitely last. Comparing to the other prices of concealers in the market, this seems somewhat reasonable (large emphasize on somewhat!) but the tinted moisturizer is just way too over priced, I feel.

Hi,
I came across to your blog while I was looking for a review on LM Secret Concealer. I have serious dark circles, actually Benefit Boi-ing works for me but I also wanna try out this one. I use Boi-ing Shade 2, but I couldn’t decide which shade I should get at Secret Concealer. #3 or #4? How’s the coverage? and have you ever used LM Under Eye Perfecter? I’m asking because I can’t try LM products in my city anywhere..
I know your post was sent a year ago, hope you’ll see my comment :) Thanks ahead!

Hey DeeDee!

No worries, I always keep a look out for recent comments so I can reply them, even if the posts are old!

If Boi-ing works for you I think you should just stick to it! Nope, never tried Eye Perfecter, what’s that? I do like LM products, though. Her tinted moisturizer is a legend.

Secret concealer is a good concealer, but for me Boi-ing really covers like no other. You can give it a try though; I am using shade 2 and I’m also Shade 02 for Boiing. Let me know how it works for you! :)

I’ve tried the Clinique “tone correcting” concealer.
How does that compare to the bobby brown boi-ing and this one?
