The May issue of InStyle was my very first time buying the magazine, and I am pleasantly surprised.
I guess the reason why I never really bought it is because I know nothing about style! However I bought it for reading on the plane, and I’m really glad I did. They had a very imformative article about the amount of beauty products to use called How Much is Enough? and I thought I’d share.
And yes, my photos are pretty awful (sorry about that!) but the the images are still to scale, I didn’t do anything in terms of resizing. Hope it helps!

The article went on to write:
Face
With the exception of sunscreen (which is vastly underused), most people put too much product on their face. The consequences? Breakouts, clogged pores and – in the case of treatment serums – irritation.
Hair
Though the quantity of product varies according to the length and thickness of your hair, less is usually more here too. Excessive amounts of styling cream, mousse, shine serum and conditioner can weigh hair down. And anyone who has ever applied a fistful of shampoo knows the downside of overzealous washing: bubbles that just won’t disappear. Stylists say you are better off using a small amount and washing twice.
Body
While too much body wash can dry out skin, moisturizers and sunscreens are hard to overdo. Anything less than a shot glass of sunscreen can compromise the efficacy of the SPF.
What do you think? Are you using more or less of what they recommend? I’m apparently not putting on enough face or body moisturizer! (Don’t get me started on the sunscreen – I’m very bad!)

Ahhh I remembered my first inStyle mag. Bought it for RM18, which was, of course, nuts. Just loved the pictures and articles, and ever since I got here, I made sure I subscribed to the mag (a lot cheaper via subscription) :P
