Totally agree - snipping the hair off is the only way to remove the damage! Deep conditioning and conditioner does help it look better in the meantime while you're waiting for it to grow out to a length you're comfortable cutting at, aka me :-P Or, for those who have dry or coarse hair in general, deep conditioning would help greatly.

Thanks for your comment Marilyn, agreed with everything you said!

Good looking hair is the ultimate symbol of health and beauty. I've seen unattractive or overweight girls look great with good looking hair. However, hair is dead, once it is damaged by chemicals, blow driers or flat irons, the damage is done and the only thing you can do is cut it off. Think of your hair as yarn which has had bleach poured on it. After the bleach, the yarn will never be the same, it will be broken and brittle. The yarn is a dead thing, like hair. What deep conditioning does is make your hair look temporarily better and natural conditioners such as jojoba oil, encourage healthier new growth.

Hey Cait! :)
I'm pretty sure the culprit is that flat iron every morning! It damages the hair greatly and I would think sucks out all life from it. You should definitely deep condition it as often as you can, the results are amazing and help greatly. Try Pantene 3 minute miracle, I really like it: http://www.beautyfool.net/pantene-3-minute-miracle-treatment-review/. As far as shine goes, you can get some shine serums or sprays - they are really good. Try also buying a leave in conditioner so that you hair gets as much moisture as possible. Although I think the best is to lay off the flat iron :(
I hope I helped a little! Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions! :)

Hey Renee. I have dark, thick, poofy, wavy hair. I flat iron it every morning, I wash my hair at night. My hair never works the way i want it to, it's never shiney or pretty, its just dull and boring. Do you think deep conditioning would help?

Hey Caroline, you can do anything you want in the shower (hm, that didn't sound right did it?!) as long as you have freshly clean, washed hair before you do this! Personally I shampoo and condition before. :)

Ruth, I used to do what you do - dump some conditioner on my hair and hope it helps! After awhile I skipped it altogether cause I was so lazy, but bad idea. Try this out and tell me what you think :)

Tine, I have an extra one for hair treatments too! :P

I definitely use my shower cap for my hair masks. I keep a separate one just for hair treatments :)

Step 4 is new to me!

I wonder why I have never heard of it yet. I normally just apply conditioner for about 3 minutes in the shower but it's not really working haha. Will have to try this out, thanks for the tip, I will pamper my hair one of these days! :)
