How To: Anne Hathaway’s Modernized Bob

Anne Hathaway is really becoming a fashionista! I love her recent fashion choices on the red carpet, with her new haircut (read my post on how to fake a bob if you want to try the style without the cut!) and her makeup (especially this classy look).

It’s no secret that celebrities inspire fashion and makeup styles, and it seems like Hollywood is influencing each other! Everyone seems to be sporting a ‘modernized’ bob these days, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Garner. This cut creates beautiful lines by emphasizing your neck and shoulders.

And good news! I’ve got the exclusive on how to get Anne’s beautiful hairstyle here, plus the products used on her. (Now what about her makeup! Isn’t it stunning?!)

Fekkai’s Adir Abergel explains how to get this look:

  1. You need a good volumizer like Fekkai Coiff Shape and Set Mist to use all over the roots and dry hair upside down to create fullness.
  2. Adir then wrapped hair around a 1″ curling iron, making sure to leave the ends out to create a relaxed curl.
  3. Set with your styling product of choice. (Mine would be L’Oreal Elnett Satin hairspray. I highly recommend it!)

“Clients should ask for a choppier bob so it’s not so blunt, but rather has texture on the ends with longer layers that frame the face for body,” says Adir. “The long bob can become soccer mom-esque if it is too blunt, so make sure your stylist removes some bulk from hair by chops into the ends.”

Even though I don’t have her hairstyle, I’m definitely going to try this look! I’ve never tried any Fekkai products, are they any good?

oh wow! I love this hairdo! I wonder if i can pull it off…. but I’m so incredibly lazy when it comes to maintaining my hair. :( And I still don’t have the heart to cut my hair short.

I can’t bear to cut my hair short either… When I was 10 I had a grand idea to chop it off like a boy – never again! Since then I haven’t cut my hair above my shoulders!

I’m sure you can pull this style off, soft curls suit everybody! Or you can always ‘fake’ the bob ;)
