With the every popular release of Allergan’s Latisse, a FDA-approved eyelash growth serum, this year, getting the lashes of your dreams seems possible (not the mention expensive).
However, that is by prescription only, so I have found some other eyelash growth serums on the market that may be of interest:
Rapidlash

I am quite impressed by all the safety regulations they put this product through.
Anything near the eyes are scary, and it’s comforting to know Rapidlash has passed all tests including, Safety/regulatory status in the US and the European Union, Consumer Skin Sensitization Patch Study, Dermatologist Skin Irritation Study, Ophthalmologist Eye Irritation Potential Study.
Also, the ingredients are fragrance-, paraben- and cruelty-free.
RapidLash works through by its powerful potent polypeptides, vital proteins, vitamins, and its moisturizing agents. All these ingredients work together in moisturizing, prevent breakage, aid in strength, and protection to the structure of your lashes and brows.
At US$49.99, it’s one of the cheaper options too!

Jan Marini Marini Lash Eye Conditioner
Ah! The brand that started it all. (That I know of).
It was the year 2005 that the infamous lash product came onto the market, which started it all, and of course was the one that had to be reformulated after it was not FDA approved.
Well, the product is back, dermatologist and ophthalmologist safety tested, and is a non-prostaglandin formula, containing a proprietary peptide. Price is US$160 – yikes.
Revita Lash

Formulated by Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff for his wife, who had undergone chemotherapy due to breast cancer, this was a truly special gift!
The intensive treatments had damaged Gayle’s beautiful lashes, leaving them broken and very sparse, and this adoring husband wanted to help out – soon, others was wondering about Gayle’s amazing eyelashes, and thus Revitalash was born.
I couldn’t really find out much info, except this thing costs US$150 (!!) and promises that your lashes will be “longer, thicker, fuller, and more beautiful than ever.”
Warning: Check the product website carefully to find even more information about the product, especially all its side effects and its ingredients. Some horror stories I have heard from eyelash serums are darkening of the eye color, irritation, redness and eye infections. So check carefully and do your research!
Does anybody use any eyelash growth serums, or have tried any of these out? What do you think of them – all hype, or do they actually work? I’d love to hear and hopefully get my hands on one of them, soon!

Hmm…I’m not sure about these. I mean it’ll be great if they actually work. But with that kind of price tag, nah…I’ll pass. =)

I’ve tried something called Double Lash from Mavala – http://www.ilovelookinggood.com/2008/07/14/something-for-your-lashes/
It actually prevents your lashes from falling out so often. Aside from that, I think its a perfect mascara base as well. Try it out! :D

You correctly acknowledged Jan Marini’s original eyelash enhancement product, introduced in 2005, as the product that “started it all,” launching a huge new market segment. A couple updates:
- We reformulated the first product but not because the FDA did not approve it. Cosmetic products are not subject to the FDA approval process.
- The price of Marini Lash is high for some — $160 — but one tube typically lasts about six months while others, at least those that are effective, may be priced somewhat lower but last only a few months.
The eyelash product marketplace has matured during the last several years and now many eyelash products are available and many more are in the pipeline. Results from any eyelash product vary and consumers should find the product that works best for them. Marini Lash has a huge audience of loyal users that have realized wonderful benefits from the product. Jan Marini continues to innovate and will always strive to develop products that deliver real results.

Nur – I have heard SO MUCH about Mavala and I tried it a few years ago, because my mom’s friend bought me a tube cause she said it’s awesome. I read your review and I definitely agree it’s more for strengthening the lash, though I did see a slight difference in length on my bottom lashes.
Mark – Thanks for stopping by and explaining to us all. I will research on why you reformulated your product, as I’m really curious! Though I swear it I heard it was something to do with the FDA? Not sure. I’ll look it up.
Thanks for your comments! :D
I have been using this new Eyelash Growth Gel called Lash-em and it’s been working great. After just 2 weeks, my eyelashes are so much longer. I have tried so many other products that say they will lengthen your eyelashes, but they never work! I am in love with this stuff and won’t ever use anything else. You should definitely try out this product. Their website is http://www.lash-em.com
