Does Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner work?

Jan Marini Age Intervention’s Eyelash Conditioner has been a hot topic for many years.
It is a mascara like tube with an eyeliner-brush applicator that you apply to the base of your eyelashes, and is said to give you fuller, longer, thicker eyelashes.
I am not too sure about the exact facts, but the Eyelash Conditioner is a reformulated version than the one they had some time back, which was pulled off the shelves.
While the price tag may scare some off, I have seen some before and after pictures of consumers and some people I know swear by the product.
Yet at the same time, check out what they say at their website:
Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner is not intended to stop, prevent, cure, relieve, reverse or reduce eyelash loss or to promote the growth of eyelashes.
Weird! I’m a bit on the don’t-know-what-to-think boat.
The Beauty Brains wrote an article about what they thought that prompted a lot of comments, and it was very interesting to read on the many ideas and opinions.
What do you think? Has anyone tried this product?

If it is not supposed to “promote the growth of eyelashes”, then how can it give you “fuller, longer, thicker eyelashes”?
This product is a drug masquerading as a cosmetic. Since it hasn’t been thoroughly tested for safety, I’d recommend avoiding it. Most people probably won’t have any negative effects by using it and some may even see some benefit. However, would you want to put an untested drug near your eyes?
I know I wouldn’t.
Drugs near you’r eyes just seem like a bad idea to me. So dangerous. Is this really the price and lengthhs women today are taking to look -beautiful-?
I agree Lisa P., I think some go a little too far! To be honest though, I heard you can use this for your eyebrows as well, so if I could I would probably use it there, at least its not that close to your eyes, right?! :S
