After my beloved Lancome Virtouse tube started to dry out, I decided the other day to buy Diorshow Blackout since I used to wear Diorshow and didn’t mind it, and just wanted a bit of a change. Also, the whole “From the catwalks to you” definitely made me want to try it out!
I’ve used Diorshow maybe 2 years ago then switched to Lancome mascaras that I dearly love, but I didn’t switch because I didn’t like Diorshow – just wanted a change and then forgot about it, I guess! I’m glad I’m back though!
Blackout is an “intense deep kohl black shade that glides on smoothly, and draws out every last lash to show-stopping lengths.”
Blackout definitely delivered the darkest, deepest black I’ve ever since, and like Diorshow the volumizing and lengthening properties are excellent. The formula, like its original, doesn’t smudge or flake, and it holds a curl very well – one thing I’m wondering is why did they change the brush? This brush is as large as Diorshow, but for some reason the bristles are spaced out so much, it clumps up after one layer of application. Two or three layers and you’re asking for a clumping mess!
If they changed the brush to the original, this would definitely be “THE” mascara. Other than that, I do like Blackout very much and would repurchase, but the brush – terrible!
