Ah, another week already! This week I have a quick tip for reviving your dried up nail polish, especially if you want to use it one last time…

Leaving your nail polish untouched or not screwing the bottle cap back on properly can dry up the formula, leaving it thicker and much harder to apply. For a quick fix, add a few drops of nail polish remover into the bottle and shake well. This will ‘thin’ out the formula a bit for a much smoother application for awhile, or at least until you stock up with a new bottle!
Oh and another tip to make your nail polish last longer? Keep them in the fridge!
How do you deal with dried up polishes? Do you do anything special (like this tip?) or just buy a new bottle? I used to just toss the bottle and get a new one, but if it’s a color I really love (especially gray) then I’d try to ‘prolong’ it. :)
Hello and welcome!

I heard nail polish remover really messes up nail polish. Use thinner instead!
Oh really? Damn! They make thinners? Never seen them before. :(
My aunts love the nailpolish in the fridge trick!

Haha, so many Marys today! I love that trick too, been doing it forever! :)
I always put a special thinner for polishes formulas that will keep the nail polish fresh more many months. You could use a nail polish remover but if it contains acetone the result will not be that great. Keep them in fridge tip was cool :)
Do you have any names of brand’s of thinners? I seriously had no idea they existed!
i add a few drops of clear nail polish and roll between my palm. It works.

YES! Rolling the bottle between your palms work really well. Why didn’t I think of that this time? Thanks Janis! :D
I learned this trick from my mom when I first started painting my nails as a little girl! It’s an oldie but always a goodie.
That’s great! It really works! :D
Some brands have specials liquids to add to the nail polish, because nail polish remover can ruin the nail polish :-(
