Yes, this is a man wearing fake eyelashes. And yes, I too am jealous of his perfectly applied eye makeup – it looks amazing!
Anyway, we last discussed what you thought about ‘Guyliner’ (men wearing eyeliner) and it was mixed responses, which I love – I love hearing all of your opinions! However, I need to take it further. What if the man in your life had a more perfectly applied smokey eye than you? What if he’s also wearing your foundation, stealing your lip balm, or worse – secretly trying on your expensive Shu Uemura fake eyelashes?
I’m sure we are all very aware that actors, TV presenters and musicians all wear makeup for TV appearances and photo shoots. But how much is too much for you? What’s your limit, if any? What I’m talking about those not in front of the camera – should they really leave the house with a face full of foundation, bronzer, colored lip balms and mascara filled lashes? What do you think?
Generally I think to each their own, but for my significant other I really don’t mind too much, as long as he doesn’t look like this. However, I might have to rip out his eyelashes in anger if they are longer (and prettier) than mine.

Guyliner (guy + eyeliner), has always been a trendy staple for any punk rocker. But when I saw a man the other night in full ‘hip hop’ gear – in other words, not a punk rocker – wearing dark, smudgy eyeliner, I wondered if it wasn’t just meant for angry boys playing music in their parents basement. I thought about this issue even more when I was on my way to school this week and saw a seemingly normal, middle-aged working man (suit and all) wearing eyeliner.
Either way, my stance on guyliner is I’ve always liked it, but sometimes it can look more scary than sexy. What do you think of ‘guyliner’?
This is a guest post by Diggy, the awesome guy behind Upgrade Reality. Enjoy! :)

When Renee kindly asked me to do a guest post on Beauty Fool, I didn’t quite have a topic in mind. Some brainstorming later and realizing that Beauty Fool’s readers are mostly women (I’m assuming), I came up with the idea to give a guy’s perspective about girls, makeup, appearance and behaviour.
I really love girls, they are such amazing creatures! It’s the best part about being a guy, that you get to be with a girl. Of course we don’t always understand girls, but that doesn’t really affect the overall result.
The thing that took me a long time to realize and understand is that girls are emotional creatures as opposed to guys who are logical creatures. A girl mostly makes a decision based on how she feels or how it will make her feel, not necessarily whether it is the best or most obvious decision to be made. I think many guys still do not understand this, and I still struggle with it myself sometimes. My biggest discovery and realization is the fact that a girl can sometimes seem incredibly unreasonable, offensive and downright insulting, but then when I as the guy am not affected by her behaviour, showing that her bad moods and manipulations do not have a real effect, carry on doing my own thing and call her out when she is really out of line, she can do a complete 180 and become totally friendly and lovey-dovey.
I am obviously not talking about the thoughts and behaviour of every single guy because everyone is unique and different, but I think my views are shared by the majority of guys on this world.

Want to rub Brad Pitt all over youself in the shower?
You wish!
You can, however, get the next best thing: Brad Pitt has partnered up with Kiehl’s to release Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser; and even though it’s been out for awhile, I still feel it’s worthy of a mention because it looks like an awesome product in so many ways.
The body cleanser is the very first formula made of 100% biodegradable ingredients for the brand. An earth friendly product, it is made in a 100% post consumer recycled bottle, and is free of parabens, SLS and dyes.
The best bit is that 100% of the profits made from this product will go to JPF Eco Systems, an environmental charity. “Kiehl’s formulated this product to minimize the impact we have on our environment. All proceeds will go to benefit green initiatives around the globe,” Brad explains.
So, to recap – good product for you, good product for Earth, and good product for charity! Everyone wins.
Seems like those Hollywood dads are starting a new trend! Seal, the amazing singer and husband of Heidi Klum was recently sporting some black nail polish on his toes (we have something in common!), and after much research, it seems like Kate Beckinsale and Tori Spelling’s husband love this trend as well!

Excuse me while I pass out! This, our friends, is what a man should smell like. Prada Amber Pour Homme has got to be my favorite male fragrance in all existence, (or at least right now) and I am planning to buy this for every male I know this Christmas, so that they can all wear it and suffocate me with it’s wonderful soothing scent.
It came out quite some time ago (at least a year or so), but to me it’s already a classic and will never go out of style!
Built on a platform of rich amber, subtly woven with the clean smell of barber’s soap. Prada cologne has top notes that evoke a natural, classic cologne… for the self-assured man.
What a description! Anyways, it smells good and that’s all that matters. I’m even tempted to buy one for myself, as it’s one of those feminine-masculine scents. In fact, this could be unisex.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s long-awaited line of man makeup, Monsieur is now out!
Monsieur has ‘officially’ come out this month, although it is a re-launch of the same idea from 2003(makeup for men) and I read it was called everything from Tout Beau Tout Propre to Skin Styling. (Don’t blame me! The only makeup I knew about 5 years ago was glitter nail polish!) Anyways, the man makeup is back, five years later, renamed and repackaged.
In fact, they say,
‘A Monsieur lies hidden in every man. Monsieur is sophisticated and elegant without fuss or complication, but of course not without humor’.
The line includes “aesthetic enhancement” products like a cleanser, toner, shaving products, concealer, eyeliner, brow grooming gel and a bronzer.
Alright, here’s my two cents worth – to each their own, but I’m unsure of this line! The product types seem pretty reasonable – eyeliner (or ‘guyliner’) is really nice when done right; and if a guy has a zit he should be able to use concealer to cover it up. However, the bronzer seems very fake looking to me, and the brow grooming gel seems unnecessary – tweeze those monsters instead! If the line branches out into lipstick and mascara, though, then I’d be a little freaked out!
Boys, will you be buying from this line? :-P
