Are you still using nose strips?

nose-strips

I only ask because I found one in my drawer earlier today and it is now sitting on my face. It also reminded me how it was such a craze a few years ago! I also vaguely remember some other ones that came out for your chin and forehead too. I was more obsessed with the nose strips, but did anyone try those T-zone strips?

I don’t even think they work that well (at least from my experience, squeezing always worked better for me, hehe) but the satisfaction you get after you peel it off and see what gunk there is (even if it’s only tiny facial hair!) is really exciting; if not a little obscene.

… In other words, I think the craze has hit me again. I need to stock up! :) Does anyone still use nose strips? Do they work for you?

I never use them. I was always wondering if they worth the money and if i can see some result. I prefer going to a cosmetic salon and have a professional face treatment. I admit that I would like to go more often but…..time…money :)

I love facials too but like you said, money. I can always find time to relax and pamper myself, haha. But money is an issue. It’s so expensive now-a-days! :(

i’ve used Pond’s pore strips before when it’s still available here in the Philippines (which was waaay too long ago), and it works very well for me. it really pulls out blackheads if you make sure there are no bubbles/spaces between your nose and the strip. i also try to steam my face first to loosen the blackheads. now, the only nose strips i can try is the watson’s branded nose strips which still pulls blackheads but doesn’t work as good as Pond’s.

i never encountered strips for other parts of the face though, i’d love to try them.

Sunmon, your comment makes me excited to go buy some from Ponds. :) Or I think the only ones left is by Biore? I’m so behind, like you said, this is all ages ago!

You’re so lucky they work so well for you, though. I haven’t had too much success; it takes away the tiny stuff but the big juicy ones just need a good squeeze LOL.

Yes, I still use nose strips. =D haha. I’ve been using the ones from Biore since forever ago. But only use once ever 2 or 3 weeks, as I have sensitive skin. And needless to say, it works on me. =)

You’re lucky! I used to use them every 3 weeks too due to sensitive skin as well! I heard they’re not too great frequently though, and all that pulling of your skin does some damage? Not sure, I vaguely remember reading something like that! :(

I use Biore’s Combo Deep Cleansing Pore Strips and I find they really work for me. They come with nose strips and T Zone strips and both do a great job. I also find that they are heaps cheaper then facials, a pack of 14 (7 of each) cost $10 (in Australia), i think. Something like that, plus they are heaps more convenient compared to facials because you can do them at home.

Thanks for your comment Emma, and glad to hear the t zone one works as well! I was just speaking to a friend and she buys them all, cuts them up and sticks them all over her face LOL.

I’m gonna have to look for Biore very soon! The one I found was Biore as well. Haha. I am sooo weird but I am excited to see what is at the shops now :-P

And yes, much cheaper than facials. Did you see my post on at-home facials too? Very inexpensive as well! :)

I tried them once but they didn’t work too well for me so I stopped. That was years ago though, maybe it’s time I give them another go.

I used these things before simply because they looked cool to me then haha, they were fun too. But my sensitive skin always got itchy afterwards. I end up scratching my nose for like an hour! (Maybe that removes the blackheads? Lol.) :)

LOL. Squeezing is the best, seriously. It’s so gross but the satisfaction is awesome LOL. I think it does that to sensitive skin cause of the pulling which leads to irritation :(

I recently got wind of this Dr. Jart thing. Supposedly you just massage it on your nose and it gets rid of blackheads :) Perfect for lazy people like me, but don’t know if it actually works.

Hey Kaye, thanks for letting us know about that product! I’m sorry to say that I wish it was so easy, it doesn’t sound that do-able! If you do try it out, do let us know! :-P

I was totally obsessed with those strips, too! I remember reading in a magazine at the time that you could get the same effect from using a piece of scotch tape on your nose. But whatever, I’m totally with you Renee, I used to love peeling it off and seeing what was hiding in my pores. So gross!

I wanted to like the Biore nose strips, but each time I used them I broke out. I’m glad they work for some people, but I think the glue-like substance that makes them stick to your face gets into my pores.

Yeah, I heard it’s not the best for the skin, and like you, I do get a bit of redness so I think my skin is a bit sensitive for it. I have a ‘natural’ remedy that works like this nose strip coming up in my ‘beauty tip if the week’ tomorrow, look out for it :)

The T-Zone ones don’t work that well if done on an average woman – I think most women don’t have that many blackheads on the forehead area. However, done on a man, especially for the first time, oh my – is it ever satisfying! Overall I think nose strips work best if you have deep dark blackheads, and those you only find in someone who has never gone squeeze happy on their nose.

Hey Karina, I’m so sorry for the late reply, I only saw your comment now! (Shameful!) I do agree with you though, I think if the blackheads are big and juicy and are already coming out, then pore strips work a charm. Ooh I wish I knew a man who would actually agree to this! They’d all run away :-P
