Anne Hathaway Makeup Look at Get Smart Screening
June 26, 2008
Exactly a week ago, Lancôme hosted a special screening of Get Smart with their latest ambassadress (and face of fragrance Magnifique, out in August) Anne Hathaway at the private Core Club in New York City.
The screening benefited the Lollipop Theater Network, a charitable organization which Anne is highly involved with. The Lollipop Theater Network provides first-run movies, and volunteers like Anne bring cheer to children with serious illnesses who sadly miss seeing these films in the theater due to their long hospital stays.
What a great charity! Anne sported such simple yet stunning makeup, and showed off her new bob haircut that everyone’s been talking about.
Celebrity makeup artist Julie Harris did Anne’s makeup for the screening, and gave us the scoop on how to recreate the look:
First, she used Lancôme black liquid Artliner on the upper lash line to make Anne’s eyes pop and added a few coats of Lancôme Hypnôse mascara, giving her lashes a beautiful boost of volume and length. I approve of Hypnôse! ;)

Estee Lauder Bali Dream Travel Exclusive
June 24, 2008

My friends are obsessed with Bali. Every summer, all I hear is about how they want to go to Bali to party and drink. Me? I’d rather go for other reasons – THE BEACH! I really need to buy a beach house (or someone can buy it for me!) since my ideal life is sitting on a beach all day. ;) There is nothing better than lying in the sun, reading a good book, or taking a nap. Or eating ice cream, or gossiping with your friend. Or…. Sigh. I really need a holiday.
Estee Lauder’s travel exclusive fragrance, Bali Dream, could bring me back there with one sniff.
With notes in categories such as “sea-kissed florals, Sensual, Lush and Tropical”, I need to get my butt off to the nearest duty free and try this out. Notes include moon orchirds, magnolias, Indonesian Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Gardenia, Vanilla and Cedar Wood.
How to Grow Out Your Bangs/Fringe
June 23, 2008
Sorry for the lack of updates, I am working with a web designer to get the site looking better so I have been very distracted by that!
Anyways, I was reading a story online about bangs and how tons of celebrities are gradually growing theirs out, so I thought I’d write about my own experience with them, and offer help for those who had an experience like mine.
Earlier in January, my best friend and I were chatting on web cam (she’s in London for college) when we decided right then and there that we had to get bangs. We obviously need to find better things to do online, because she started cutting her hair in front of me, (that daredevil!) while I watched in horror. In the end, however, it turned out really well! So well that the next day I rushed to my beloved hairdresser and asked for bangs; I couldn’t wait!
While my friend loved hers, I loved mine for about 3 hours and then got over it - my face shape is oval/long, so it looked very weird. Unfortunately for me, bangs are pretty permanent for awhile, but thank goodness time flies and it’s already end of June; they’ve grown into long layers. Along the way, I read countless ‘tips’ on how to grow them out, but these are the only ones that I found useful:
Lancôme Launches Ôscillation Mascara
June 14, 2008
Lancôme mascara fans, (like me!) you will be happy to know that they will be launching a new mascara, Ôscillation this fall.
This unique mascara provides a 360-degree coat on lashes thanks to it’s vibrating brush, said to provide 7,000 vibrations per minute for the perfect formula application.
The mascara was created by Jean-Louis Guéret, the designer of all Lancôme mascaras, who has created almost 400 mascaras in his career. Ôscillation combines beauty with innovation, as the product has four patents for technology and formula.
This sounds really interesting! I’ve never heard anything like this before. From the picture, it looks like the mascara is one of those rubber brushes like Chanel Inimitable and Maybelline’s Define-A-Lash. I personally like old school, normal- bristled mascaras, but this is Lancôme so I will definitely try it out when it comes out. ;)

Bond No. 9 Announces Recycling Initiative First to Embark in Glass Recycling
June 13, 2008

I was really glad when I read this - save the planet, people! Bond No. 9 is now going to recycle your empty perfume bottles (not just Bond No. 9’s perfumes, any perfume bottles) in an effort to support our planet.
“As I become more aware of the issues facing our environment, I feel compelled on a personal and business level to participate in the green movement - and assume a leadership role. When I heard what Mayor Bloomberg is doing for the City with recycling, I knew I could help, too,” said Laurice Rahme, creator and CEO of Bond No. 9 New York, who now says no to plastic bags and lights her home using compact florescent bulbs. Could I love Bond No. 9 any more?!
Lisa Hoffman Night & Day 24 Skincare
June 13, 2008

Lisa Hoffman doesn’t just sit at home and wait while her actor husband, Dustin Hoffman, films on location for movies like Meet the Fockers (love that movie!). Promising to keep the family together after they had children, Lisa would go on location with him, bringing their four kids along! This made Lisa an expert packer, especially with her skincare. One night, she literally had a dream she was packing her skincare products into little organized packets, all containing an exact amount for each day. When she woke up, the idea of Lisa Hoffman Night & Day 24 Hour Skincare was born.
The collection includes 10 cleansing, toning and moisturizing formulas – 5 for day, 5 for night, each numbered and packed as a single dose, disposable tube.
Besame Cosmetics Enriched Lip Glaze Review
June 6, 2008
Besame Cosmetic’s Enriched Lip Glazes are slowly becoming a staple in my handbag. I’ve mentioned earlier that I don’t necessarily like lip gloss because they are so sticky and reapplying is rather annoying, but these Lip Glazes are almost worth all that, they simply look beautiful!
Besame’s Enriched Lip Glazes contain vitamins A, C, E, and heals and protects lips with aloe vera, macadamia nut extract and sweet almond oil. The lip gloss is amazing for moisturizing, and gives a hint of color, so it’s not over the top (there are other colors, like Chocolate and Red Berry, that I’m sure gives more color for darker skin tones), but since I’m pretty fair, lighter colors look better on me.
Floxia Disco Hyperpigmentation Skin Discoloration Review
June 2, 2008
How refreshing that a skincare product with ridiculous claims actually work!
After trying out many “fade out” creams for those annoying post-blemish reddish marks (that don’t seem to go away after a full 3 months – very annoying!) and none of them working, I had to go to Plan B and ask my doctor for help.
I was at my doctor (who I love, she’s such a gossip!) for another reason, but I decided to bring up the topic and she gave me a tube of Floxia Disco Hyper pigmentation Skin Discoloration Fade Emulsion, which “helps to fight dark spots, unify skin tone, protect from persistent skin darkening and repair cells for better resistance against UV rays.”
I had been lazy and only applied it once every few days in the beginning, but this week I’ve been good and been applying it like its directions say, twice a day. AND IT’S ACTUALLY WORKING! I’d say a good 80% of the marks are gone – I’m amazed, to say the least!
